VASCERN ePAG Exchange: 101 Genomes and GEMS at UZA

On January 20 and 21, 2023, a two-day seminar on 101 Genomes and the GEMS project was held at the UZA at the request of ePAGs (patient association representatives) from the UZA. VASCERN (European Reference Network for Rare Vascular Diseases).

The primary objectives were to understand the work of 101 Genomes, and the benefits of genomics and bioinformatics in the field of rare diseases, while respecting the regulatory and ethical framework. Once the issues had been set out, the participants were able to take a very practical look at what it’s like to work in a laboratory.

A huge thank you to the European patient associations who took the initiative for this event and to all those who helped make it a success!!!!
