“The F101G’s purpose is entirely in line with the King Baudouin Foundation’s objectives and missions” by Patricia Lanssiers
1. Could you please introduce yourself?
I’m Patricia Lanssiers and I work at the King Baudouin Foundation.
2. Why do you support the 101 Genomes Foundation’s 101 Genomes Marfan Project?
The King Baudouin Foundation is a public-interest foundation that works in a number of different areas, including poverty, social justice, talent development and democracy.
The health center is one of our major centers within the King Baudouin Foundation, and in this health center, rare diseases are really very important. We are working in several areas We work in a field where we have a major prize for research into rare diseases, the Generet Prize, but we also have a large number of funds with missions specifically dedicated to rare diseases, and the F101G is one of these funds within the King Baudouin Foundation.
The F101G aims to advance research into rare diseases, and more specifically Marfan syndrome. The F101G’s aim is therefore entirely in line with the objectives and missions of the King Baudouin Foundation..
I also have enormous respect for Ludivine and Romain’s work. They have surrounded themselves with top-level scientists to advance research into this disease and, more generally, research into rare diseases.
