The 101 Genomes Foundation and Bank Delen have organized, with the invaluable help of Professor Michel Goldman, an evening conference on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the bank’s Brussels headquarters.

At the event , Professor Anne De Paepe, Pro-Rector of Ghent University and President of the 101 Genomes Fund at the King Baudouin Foundation, outlined the objectives of the 101 Genomes Foundation and the 101 Genomes Project dedicated to Marfan syndrome.

The Professor Alain Fischer, founder of the IMAGINE Institute in Paris and holder of the Chair of Experimental Medicine at the Collège de France, then gave a presentation to a packed room entitled: “Genomes and medicine: conquests and frontiers”.   is available for download at :

The evening provided a better understanding of the genomic revolution underway, and gave an insight into the work of the 101 Genomes Foundation.

Professor Alain Fischer

Alain Fischer’s work has led to a better understanding of the development and functions of the immune system, and to the characterization of the molecular basis and pathophysiology of several hereditary immune system diseases, as well as to the development of several curative approaches using gene therapies for these diseases.

Alain Fischer is a member of the French Academy of Sciences, a founding member of the genetic diseases institute IMAGINE, a member of the French National Academy of Medicine, a member of l’Academia Europaea and holds the Chair of Experimental Medicine at the Collège de France.
