Ms Olga Dubois and Mr Gabriel Diaconu perform Sergei Rachmaninov in the Galerie des Marbres
The 20th Anniversary Gala of the Association Belge du Syndrome de Marfan (ABSM) came to an apotheosis with a performance of Sergeï Rachmaninov by Madame Olga Dubois and Monsieur Gabriel Diaconu in the beautiful Galerie des Marbres of the Palais des Académies.
Together, they performed 4 songs:
1) Сирень / Siren / Lilac
2) Сон / Sound / Dream
3) Здесь хорошо / Zdes khorosho / It’s nice here
4) Я жду тебя / Ya zhdu tebya/ I’m waiting for you
The choice of Sergei Rachmaninov was not innocent, since he, like other virtuoso Muscisians, was most likely suffering from Marfan’s syndrome (Young, “Rachmaninov and Marfan’s syndrome”, Br Med J (Clin Res Ed): first published as 10.1136/bmj.293.6562.1624 on December 20, 1986).
