{"id":4139,"date":"2021-01-09T14:03:34","date_gmt":"2021-01-09T13:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/f101g.org\/f101g-wishes-you-a-safe-healthy-and-prosperous-2021\/"},"modified":"2021-01-09T14:03:34","modified_gmt":"2021-01-09T13:03:34","slug":"f101g-wishes-you-a-safe-healthy-and-prosperous-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/f101g.org\/en\/f101g-wishes-you-a-safe-healthy-and-prosperous-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"F101G wishes you a safe, healthy and prosperous 2021!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear all,<\/p>\n<p>We leave behind us a particularly gloomy 2020 to begin a year 2021 full of promise, particularly for the <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/\">Foundation&nbsp;101&nbsp;Genomes (F101G<\/a> ) and the fight against Marfan syndrome since&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The co-Chairman of the F101G Scientific Committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/le-prix-nobel-belge-pour-le-professeur-bart-loeys\/\">Professor Bart Loeys, was recently honoured with the Belgian &#8221;&nbsp;Nobel Prize&nbsp;&#8220;<\/a>, the Prix Francqui&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>The FWO will fund the UZGent, Professor Paul Coucke, and the UZA, Professor Bart Loeys, to the tune of <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/gems-700-000-euros-pour-la-quete-des-genes-protecteurs\/\">700,000 euros to conduct the search for protective genes for Marfan syndrome <\/a>, i.e. <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/quest-ce-que-le-projet-gems\/\">for the GEMS research initiated by the F101G<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>A generous donor has <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/gems-un-genereux-donateur-double-jusqua-75-000-euros-de-dons-pour-le-projet-gems\/\">doubled the donations received by F101G<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/quest-ce-que-le-projet-gems\/\">GEMS<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/gems-un-genereux-donateur-double-jusqua-75-000-euros-de-dons-pour-le-projet-gems\/\">to 25,000 euros a year<\/a> for three years&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/des-informaticiens-viennent-preter-main-forte-a-la-f101g-et-nous-avons-des-bureaux\/\">The MIC provides us with three IT specialists<\/a> for the development of our IT tools and a fantastic family provides us with offices where we can welcome these IT specialists;<\/li>\n<li>Last but not least, Innoviris and the Brussels Region are releasing over a million euros to fund the work of Professors Tom Lenaerts (Machine Learning Group &#8211; ULB) and Guillaume Smits (Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels &#8211; ib\u00b2).  <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/gemvap-lintelligence-artificielle-ia-au-service-du-diagnostic-du-syndrome-de-marfan-par-le-professeur-guillaume-smits\/\">for the development of artificial intelligence-based tools to help diagnose and better understand Marfan syndrome&nbsp;!<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to these sums, and in particular thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/f101g.org\/des-nouvelles-des-impatients\/\">the <em>impatient <\/em>campaign <em>&nbsp;<\/em>! <em>brilliantly <\/em>led by Alisa Herrero<\/a>, we have so far collected more than 610,000&nbsp;euros in donations&nbsp;!<\/p>\n<p>We couldn&#8217;t have done it without the support of people like you, who believed in us and gave us the courage and energy to fight this battle.
