These 20 and 21 January 2023, two days of seminars about 101 genomes and the GEMS project were organized at the UZA at the request of the ePAGs (representatives of patient associations) of the VASCERN (European Reference Network for Rare Vascular Diseases).
The first objectives were to understand the action of 101 Genomes, the interest of genomics and bioinformatics in the field of rare diseases while respecting the regulatory and ethical framework. Once the stakes were set, the participants were able to discover in a concrete and very practical way the work in the laboratory.
A huge thank you to the European patient organizations who initiated this event and to all those who helped make it a success!!!
